Kukura - ancient Sanskrit meaning ‘People’ - is the main meeting place for our guests. A Samoan style contemporary longhouse, it houses reception, the main dining area and relaxation lounges, all which lead out to the spacious Tevana deck.
Elegantly decorated, Kukura House is contemporary, sleek and spacious, yet warm and welcoming. It is a place where guests can freely gravitate day or night. Built in the late seventies and redesigned in 2005, the cathedral like, high raked ceilings, natural wood features and fine flowing sheer fabrics, provide Kukura with a sense of splendour and space. Relax with a magazine or one of our many books from our library, play a board game or simply just be on one of the many daybeds with an herbal tea.
Portable DVD players with a wide choice of the latest movie releases, relaxation, guided meditation and world music CD’s are also available for our guests. If relaxing becomes too much you can browse in the Gaia Shop, where you will find DVDs, self-development and cook books, hand woven clothes and artefacts and our own exclusive Gaia range of Certified Organic skin care. While we suggest moderation, some of Australia’s finest Organic Wines are available after 5pm.
