Spring skin cleanse
After the Winter months of constant indoor heat and cold weather our skin can tend to be flaky, dry and look aged. Spring is literally a breath of fresh air and a time of rejuvenation and growth, it’s the perfect occasion to rescue your skin! Want to reduce signs of aging and exposure to the elements? We reveal how . . .
Two simple rituals – Exfoliation & Hydration!
Regular skin cleansing is clearly beneficial but it isn’t the whole solution to fresh, clean skin. Exfoliating your face on a regular basis can improve the results of your skin care routine and help rejuvenate your skin.
How does it work?
- Skin renewal – Exfoliating the tired, dead cells speeds up the skin renewal process, allowing new healthy cells to take their place. As you age, your skin becomes drier and less elastic, which can result in lines and wrinkles. You also may find your skin is more rough in texture than it used to be. This is because of the multiple layers of dead skin cells that accumulate of the years. Exfoliating aids your skin to maintain its luster and shine and is also the perfect solution to lighten and brighten age and sun spots.
- Decongestion – Along with dead cells, exfoliating also removes the dirt stuck deep inside your pores. Washing your skin alone will not accomplish this.
- Improved moisture absorption – Exfoliating allows your skin to be properly moisturized and stay healthy. Serum and moisturizers are better absorbed into skin that’s not blocked by layers of dead cells and dirt.
How do I exfoliate?
We recommend exfoliating two to three times per week. We love Gaia’s certified organic Retreatment Refining Face Polish – a thorough, creamy exfoliant containing three different size refining granules and active AHA extracts from native Lilly Pilly Fruit as well as skin brightening Licorice, which also helps circulation and remove excess dead skin cells. Why use a hydration masque?
Hydrating is about upping your skin’s water content, which then turns up the glow in your complexion. Using a daily moisturizer hydrates your skin but specially formulated hydration masques take it to the next level as they contain more easily absorbed molecules than a cream or lotion. They restore critical moisture to dry and stressed skin, especially after exposure to the elements.
How to hydrate?
We recommend using a hydration masque once a week. Gaia’s certified organic Retreatment Enzymatic Hydracell Masque with Green Papaya and intensive hydrating Aloe Vera has astringent and purifying properties that make it an excellent refreshing treatment for stressed and tired skin.
